Annual GOV Campaign for Ottawa'a Youth Services Bureau
Gay Ottawa Volleyball is pleased to be once again providing support during the holiday season to Youth Services Bureau for the 4th year in a row.
The Youth Services Bureau provides a range of support services to youth aged 12 years old and older, in the city of Ottawa. These young men and women left home for different reasons (rejection, violence, abuse, etc. And for few of them, it is their first Christmas without their family and friends. They've made their first step toward a better life and G.O.V. is proud to support YSB again this year.
On Wednesday December 10th and 17th, we will be collecting donations on their behalf. This is how you can help!
As in individual or a team, you can sponsor a youth for their first Christmas away from home. Below this e-mail, you have a list of 4 names with their wish list (suggested). You don't have to get everything on the list but these items is what they mostly need.
Donations: Do you remember when you've moved into first apartment? It is mostly the same situation for them. There is a few necessities they need.
They don't have to be "new" goods but most importantly in good condition.
Here are a few suggestions:
- non perishable foods, shampoo, soap, detergent
- glassware, dishes and cutlery
- linen, towels, clothing (all sizes needed, shoes, boots, mittens, scarfs, etc,
- gift cards (food, school supplies, movies, clothing store, etc)
- bus tickets
