Gay Ottawa Volleyball (GOV) is a group of people from the gay and lesbian community who meet every Monday and Wednesday nights from September through May for fun nights of volleyball in the nation's capital. Mondays are recreational and the Wednesdays are competitive with fixed teams.

From time to time on Wednesday nights, volleyball clinics are held for people who want to learn and improve their game. Details will be posted on the website.

How is it organized?

Monday Nights

Monday nights are recreational and more social. If you have never played before, this is a good night to come out and try it. It is also a good place to meet new people and have a good night of fun and exercise. This season, Monday night organizer is Guy.

Wednesday Nights

Wednesday nights are for organized team play. Rules are followed and you must be ready for some fast ball playing! Teams are set at the beginning of the season. September will be a month try-outs and an opportunity to join, or create your own team BUT we strongly encourage that you get a team together and register as a team!

If you are not on a team by the end of September, you still can play. Instead of a full-time team member you can be a spare. As a substituting team member you may get to play in a different team every week.
