Toto Too Tickets Discount for GOV Members

For some time, GOV has been working with the TotoToo Theatre company, Ottawa
and area's GLBT community theatre group, in a joint fundraising effort.

When GOV members purchase Toto Too tickets through the link below, $5 of
their ticket purchase goes to GOV. Tickets will also be for sale at the
End-of-Season party, this Saturday, June 13th. If you are planning to
attend,
please RSVP to party@gayottawavolleyball.com as soon as possible - come
and have a great time and help support both groups by buying tickets.

Summer Volleyball

For those who are interested, please note that GOV is facilitating the summer Outdoor Volleyball. It starts Monday, June 1st, at Stathcona Park located on Range Rd, Between Laurier Ave and Templeton, Ottawa.

Meeting time is 1830h (6:30 p.m.). Larry will bring the equipment.

GOV End of Season Party, Saturday June 13th

GOV members, volunteers, friends and partners are invited to the annual GOV end-of-season party. This year's party will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 3:00pm to 7:00pm (Rain date of Sunday, June 14th – same times). This celebration is free for GOV members and volunteers, and $10 for guests.

Details:

  • When: Saturday, June 13th at 3:00pm to 7pm
  • Where: 96 Norice Street (just south of Meadowlands, between Woodroffe and Merivale)
  • Food: A Thai food theme barbeque will be provided along with munchies, salads, and dessert
  • BYOB and BYOC (bring your own chairs). We also encourage people to bring their own coolers
  • We advise you to drink responsibly, have a designated driver, taking a taxi or bus
  • Cost: Free for GOV members and volunteers, and $10 for guests
  • Prizes and entertainment will be provided and there will be a volleyball net set up for fun, basic playing

Register today by sending an e-mail to party@gayottawavolleyball.com, and please provide your full name, and the number (if any) non-GOV guests you will be bringing. Please RSVP no later than June 8th.

In Memory of John Hough

It is with great sadness, that we have received the news of the passing of a long-time member of the GOV family. John Hough passed away this weekend after a short but courageous battle with cancer. John was a regular GOV player for many years and will be missed dearly by the many friends he made at GOV.

Details on a GOV donation in John's memory will be forthcoming.

At this time would like to pass along the following note from John's neice, Karen, to all the GOV members whose lives John touched.

Once again this year at Christmas, Gay Ottawa Volleyball sponsored several youth living in the Youth Services Bureau Housing program. We would like to thank all of you for your generously, thoughtfully considered and wonderfully presented gift bags.
